Sudden deaths in Koi and Goldfish ponds
When you first note that a fish has died in in your koi pond pond, we can't assume it was a sudden death unless you know for a FACT that the fish was "normal" looking only hours before. You should examine the fish and it's gills. If the lenses of the eyes (pupils) have turned white, the fish has been dead for quite a few hours and will not be too valuable for a diagnosis. BE SURE to notice if the gills are normal or damaged in this dead fish.
