Acriflavine
What It Is: Acriflavine is an orange powder that occurs in the chemical class of acridines. The powder should be mixed with distilled water to make a stock solution for dosing purposes and should never be dosed in its dry form.
What It's Good At: Dosed at 5 ppm, Acriflavine is effective in the eradication of several ciliated protozoan parasites including Oodinium, which is pretty resistant to most everything else. Acriflavine also controls many bacterial infections, which are on the surface of the fish. If used daily as a dip, Acriflavine effectively reduces and clears viral Lymphocystis dermal and fin lesions.
